NIKAN of the Potawatomi Lessons of the Seven Grandfathers
Designer: Via E
Nikan of the Potawatomi Lessons of the Seven Grandfather integrates the story of a modern Potawatomi boy and the Native American story of the Seven Grandfathers. The story of the Seven Grandfathers is central to Native teachings on how to live a good life, without conflict and in peace. Using the animal representative for each of the seven values: love, respect, bravery, honest, wisdom, truth, and humility, Nikan happens upon each during a dream. He passes each of the seven lessons to awake surrounded by his family finding he had fell while climbing a tree. This is a story of adventure, with a moral code and introduction to Native American culture.
